2011, Galleri Riis, Oslo
Plaster, pigments, steel, epoxy, aluminium, carpet, framed bookpages and a book work In the collection of the National Museum, Norway
The piece takes as its point of departure the Meditation Room in the UN headquarter in New York. The “room of silence” was initiated by Dag Hammarskjöld, and opened in 1957. The installation investigates the relationship between art, politics and spirituality by applying visual themes and principals that are to be found in the meditation room. The installation was accompanied by the book United Nuances, a handmade artist’s book in 50 copies.
